Yes We Can (Go Beyond Lvl 20)!: A Much Needed Expansion for Fallout 3
In my review for the game itself, I stated how I felt the maximum level of 20 was absolutely ridiculous as you can easily achieve this level VERY early in the game. My other criticism pertained to the "good" ending where, unlike in other roaming RPGs such as Fable II, ends the game prematurely preventing you from going back to explore the rest of the wasteland. Not anymore!Broken Steel continues the story with a three primary quests and then allows the player to free roam afterwards. The level cap has also been raised from the low level of 20 to a not-so-low level of 30. This does present a problem for gamers that have beaten all the dungeons before installing Broken Steel as the expansion does not have enough quests to reach the level cap. However, that is where Point Lookout comes in, but more on that later.Similar to previous expansion packs, such as Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, Broken Steel includes new and powerful weapons such as the...

A Must Have Expansion For a Hardcore or Casual Fallout 3 Player
Originally I had downloaded both of these off of the Xbox Live Marketplace when they first came out. Here's a little mini-review of each of the DLC's...Broken SteelLevel Cap Raised to 30 (lots of new perks added with that)Lets you play the game after it normally endedSeveral new weapons addedOverall a fun bit of DLC, it made Fallout 3 what it should have been all along.Point LookoutBig Area to exploreA LOT of quests and side-questsNot the best selection of new weapons but enough to mix things up a bitUnlike any other location in the wasteland - a nice change in sceneryMy favorite DLC by far, I highly recommend this bundle just for thisWhich brings us to the bundle... it's 20 bucks and it comes with a disc you just pop in your 360 then in about 5-10 minutes you'll be good to go, and also to be noted THIS DOES NOT REQUIRE XBOX LIVE...

More fun than you can fit in your Confederate Hat
I am an ardent Fallout fan, and Fallout 3 was like a Godsend to the series, making it far more immersive than I anticipated that it would. I had purchased and played The Pitt/Operation: Anchorage DLC when it became available on DVD and loved that game as well as it adds to the existing mythology of the game so very well. This is the 2nd DLC (that's Downloadable Content to those of you not in the know), basically an expansion pack to the root Fallout 3 game. Some Spoilers ahead! Consider yourself warned! This second DLC (Broken Steel) pack takes you on a no holds barred battle to wipe out the remnants of the Enclave still populating the DC Wasteland area. Despite President Eden's demise and the terrible pounding that the Enclave took at the end of the first game, they're still around in large numbers and are determined to take control of the DC area by force. Broken Steel allows you to pick up where the end of Fallout 3 left off by allowing that you were put in...

Really 2 seperate add ons for Fallout 3. OA is 3 stars, The Pitt is 4 1/2 stars
There are really 2 different things here, and I'll try and deal with them separately. Also, to try and clear up confusion, there are several ways to get these add ons. You can get them from Games for Windows LIVE (GFWL)individually, or you can buy this add on disk with the BOTH of them on it. The software is the same. With GFWL you can, get each one by itself (and others as well). If you buy this disk, you get 2 at a time.Operation Anchorage was the first Add on that was available for Fallout 3. Personally, I didn't care for it... It takes place in a "simulation", and outside the Fallout 3 storyline. There's some that takes place in the capital wasteland, but only about 10% of it. There are some new weapons (the Gauss rifle is pretty cool), but other than that, its pretty underwhelming. I found Anchorage pretty confusing, and it gave me a headache sometimes when I had to wander around lost in a maze of nondescript frozen paths. It is very very linear, as well as...

Product Description

Requires Fallout 3 to play. The Pitt Description: The Pitt allows you to travel to the post-apocalyptic remains of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and become embroiled in a conflict between slaves and their Raider masters. Explore a sprawling settlement ravaged by time, neglect, nuclear radiation, and moral degradation. The Pitt is filled with morally grey choices, shady NPCs, new enemies, new weapons, and much more. Story: The Pitt opens with a desperate radio message, and a meeting with its sender, an escaped slave named Wernher. Wernher claims that the leader of "The Pitt" has created a cure for mutations... and he needs you to go in and retrieve it. From there, the player can proceed in a number of ways, in true Fallout 3 style. Do you fight your way in, or disguise yourself as a slave? Ally with the slaves, or join their Raider overlords? The Pitt is very morally ambiguous - there's no real right or wrong, just choices to be made, sides to be chosen, and a mystery that could send shockwaves throughout the entire Wasteland. Operation Anchorage Description: Operation: Anchorage. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe - the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. Gain access to unique armor, weapons, and exotic gadgets while you build and command interactive Strike Teams to win the battle and defeat the Chinese base. Story: The Brotherhood Outcasts are trying to acquire advanced military technology, and the only way to open the vault containing these relics is by completing a tactical simulation only you can enter. In Operation: Anchorage you will re-live the epic Battle of Anchorage from Fallout lore. Find your way into the simulation, stripped of resources, and survive within the rules set up by the simulation’s creators. The Chinese red army is everywhere, so secure the surrounding mountain side and fight your way into the Chinese base. Top to learn more

THE PITT AND OPERATION:ANCORAGE
Basically it's the DLC on a disk. It comes with a cool poster with vault boy all over it. Loses a star because it downgrades fallout 3 to v1.4 if not careful, but can easily be fixed.(UPDATE)It also removes the need for a disk to be in the drive to play Fallout 3! I wish i could give this game's one lost star back but amazo won't let me so this product is 5/5 stars!

No GFL!
I feel compelled to review this, seeing that it has 1 star overall. This is not a bad product. If you enjoyed Fallout 3, you will like this game. It adds the first two expansions (or DLCs), Operation Anchorage and The Pitt.If you have not tried these yet because you did not want to use Games for Windows Live, I would highly recommend this.As for the "malware" it installs, I have had no problems with Securom. A great deal. Must buy if you've never tried Fallout 3 before.
This is the 3rd time I've tried Fallout 3, and I must say, the third time's a charm.I didn't like this game the first or the second time, but granted I gave it only a couple of hours each time. I last bought this game in June, but returned it when I heard about the GOTY edition a few days later. The GOTY does come with 2 discs, Disc One is the gameplay for Fallout 3, which looks virtually unchanged, except on the actual disc itself where it says "Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition". Besides that, there's little to no difference. Disc 2 has all the DLC, including the last installment; Mothership Zeta. The instruction manual is a new one for GOTY, and instructs you to install disc 2 to your hard drive, before playing if you've never played Fallout 3, or do not have a current save file. However I didn't read it, and played about 3 hours of disc one before I noticed. I installed disc 2 (About 10 minutes, give or take), and everything was fine. I got the...

Bethesda Strikes Again
In 2007, I purchased Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Game of the Year Edition) after finally jumping into this generations gaming systems. Close to 400 hours later, I decided that game was the best value for my money in terms of content, quality, and overall fun that I would ever play.I was wrong. My wife purchased me Fallout 3 in 2008 as an anniversary gift; she knew I'd played the original Fallout games and really enjoyed Oblivion with me, so it was a great gift. To say that I was stunned and enraptured with Fallout 3 would be an understatement; I've played this game with regularity for over a year. It is a huge, expansive, detailed, life-like world with so much to do and see that each time through you can find more and more surprises that you may have missed previously. Toss in all 5 DLCs at a mere $60, and this game is pushing 150 hours of game time just for one play through. This is an incredibly involved game and isn't for everyone; its the kind...

Best "Game of the Year" value--maybe ever
I played through Fallout 3 and beat it and reached level 20 back when it first came out. It was well worth my time then. I got hours and hours of fun gameplay out of it then.I eventually auctioned it and got half my money back but I'll buy this version, and STILL feel like I'm getting a good deal. There's fifty-dollars worth of DLC included in this package. If you consider that, along with another 10 bucks for the standalone game, this might very well be the best video game deal since "The Orange Box." Compared to Oblivion, which only came with two expansions--and how about Left 4 Dead, which included the FREE DLC for their "GOTY" edition. As for the game? It's stellar. I enjoyed it a lot more than Oblivion. I'm not a huge RPG fan but great action RPGs like this and Mass Effect are first rate. If you haven't played Fallout 3, you should get this copy. It's a one-of-a-kind experience.

Excellent
Broken Steel does for Fallout 3 what the Extended Editions did for Lord of the Rings: by adding more and deeper content it makes you care more and feel like things have properly been resolved. Plus, after the dramatic, explosion-packed finale, you get to play on as long as you like with a raised level cap.Point Lookout adds a huge swampy area for you too look around with plenty to see and do. The quest is fun and interesting and there are some great characters and locations. It's a great Fallout add-on, but those who enjoyed Bethesda's Shivering Isles and Morrowind will enjoy the landscape too.

Excellent DLC
If you have Fallout 3 and want to take your game further, this is the DLC for you. Broken Steal and Point Lookout are much, much better and open ended than Operation Anchorage and The Pitt.Contrary to what one misinformed reviewer wrote, this add on actually removes SecuRom from the original Fallout 3 installation. If you don't own Fallout 3 yet, you may want to wait, as a game of the year edition will be released soon with all five DLCs included.

worthy additions to the Fallout universe
I've been pleased with the DLCs that Fallout 3 has come out with. Fortunately my two favorites happened to be packaged together. Both provide entertaining game play and at $[...] its a pretty good dealBROKEN STEEL: Broken Steel begins where the main quest in the game ended. After activating the water purifier, you must deal with the remaining pockets of the Enclave forces through out the wasteland. There are also some fun side quests where you deal with gangs that attempt to extort the new water supply. Broken Steel adds some fun adventure and some powerful new equipment, which you will definitely need because the action gets intense towards the end. The biggest perk is that you can increase your EXP level to 30 that include some powerful benefitsPOINT LOOKOUT: My personal favorite of the DLC's so far (though at this point have not played MOTHERSHIP yet) in this DLC you take a ferry to Point Lookout Maine to capitalize on a business opportunity. Great addition to the game!
I don't have xbox live myself, so the Game Add-On Pack is great (allowing me to get dlc that I'm not able to anyways). The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage are both great expansion packs (although they're fairly short). I really appreciate Bethesda putting this out there for those of us who can't get the dlc anyways. I'm really looking forward to August to get the Broken Steel and Point Lookout Add-On pack.

Worthy addition to already great game even if a little short.
YOU MUST OWN A COPY OF FALLOUT 3 TO PLAY THIS EXPANSION. This disc contains Operation Anchorage and The Pitt two expansion's previously available from X-box Live through a download. Operation Anchorage puts the player in a simulator to experience the Chinese Red Army siege of Alaska (which Fallout 3 fans should already know about through the game anyway). It introduces new weapon's and armor that your character can use if they win the simulation which you can then use in the "real world". The Pitt takes you to Post Apocalyptic Pittsburgh to save a town over run by Raider's(again Fallout 3 fans should already know what a raider is). You get new weapon's here as well. The expansion is a little on the short side but it is still really fun. If you are a Fallout 3 fan this is a must own if you haven't already got it from Live. Oh and when you put in the disc it will automatically give you the new X-box experience which is pretty much a new dashboard and you make an avatar for when and if...

Different and Dirty
Operation: Anchorage was the first downloadable content available for Fallout 3. Fallout is far too complex a game to explain here; suffice it to say that the paranoia and jingoistic patriotism of the 1950s became a permanent way of life due to the escalation of nuclear war between communist forces and America. Operation: Anchorage fills in the back story of the game by thrusting the player into a pivotal moment in Fallout's history: the liberation of Alaska from communist China. This isn't really an addition to Fallout so much as it's a complete mini-game more in the vein of the Tom Clancy sneak-and-shoot games. The mission involves a series of escalated attacks against Chinese forces in a windswept arctic climate. There are soldiers that can be commanded to fight on your behalf, enabling some rudimentary squad tactics. There are no mutations and therefore no mutants, no irradiated wasteland and thus no radiation concerns, and only the equipment Anchorage supplies you...

The House Always Wins
If Fallout 3 was about setting itself apart from the earlier games, Falout: New Vegas brought the game back to a familiar setting and faces. Taking many of the game play elements and story arcs from Interplays originally proposed Fallout 3 also known as Van Buren, the setting and plot build off the first two Fallout games. This game is also not only developed by Bethesda, but also obsidian which brought some of the people who originally worked on this series, back into the project. I think this shows, because the game carried more of the spirit of the series then Fallout 3 did. In fact, I think this is the best game in the series and I'll try to state why in the rest of the review. For those of you who don't know the basic plot elements of the series though, here is a recap of that from one of my earlier reviews:"The Fallout universe is set in a world ravaged by nuclear war. A complicated war between several powers, the Japanese(Retconned out), Chinese, USSR and America...

WHAT DIES IN VEGAS, STAYS IN VEGAS
The previous installment of the Fallout series, , was an excellent open-world Role-Playing Shooter (RPS). Although it suffered a far from...happy ending and most of the DLCs offered little more than even more loot and a handful of unique items, it was a game I greatly enjoyed for hours at no end and was more than happy to replay it only to follow different paths every time the story bifurcated. I for one was sure left craving for more and the Obsidian/Bethesda people were more than happy to deliver. Even so, true to Vegas mentality, they seem to have let their winnings ride...The first thing that hits you in the Mojave desert is how...familiar this new world looks like. The graphics, which were excellent two years ago, are still very good - but they are no longer cutting edge. Besides some richer shadowing and somewhat...

This export was very difficult, in fact it was nearly impossible to keep everything the same as it was in Fallout 3.

JAILBROKEN PS3 FALLOUT 3 FALLOUT NEW VEGAS WAY TO TRANSFER FROM PC TO PS3 HDD PREFERABLY WIRED FTP BECAUSE YOU'LL BE MOVING SOME BIG FILES THE MOD FILES FROM HERE- A Requiem for the Capital Wasteland at Fallout New Vegas Nexus - New Vegas mods... esp to the RFCW folder and if you have any dlc for fallout 3 or new vegas copy the esps with the corresponding name to the dlcs you have also to the RFCW folder. Now copy all the files from the the RFCW folder into your New Vegas backup Data folder overwrite anything it asks because it's most likely just music and copy the same files to the Data folder in your New Vegas ***GAMEDATA*** folder usually... Now go back to the new fodler you made and go into the Requiem for the Capital Wasteland folder in their and copy the Fallout - ArchiveInvalidation file into the RFCW folder this file is necessary and very important now go into the ESPs folder and... esm and your MUSIC folder from you ***FALLOUT 3*** data folder into the RFCW folder. ini most likely if you have the ultimate edition new vegas with the dlc on the disc then read at the bottom of the post. If you have dlc and it says anything about it in your. Their will be a data folder in the new folder you made that you extracted go into it and copy the esm named RFCW_PackageFix. In the new folder you made make another folder name RFCW. ini to your Fallout New Vegas backup on your ps3 and replace the old one. ini from your New Vegas folder and press CTRL+F and find sEssentialFileCacheListE= and you want to add to that att the very beggining after the equal sign DATA/*. Now if you did everything right and put all the files in the right folders it should work their are some glitches and you will have to start a new game so read below. BSA add this *Fallout - ArchiveInvalidation.

This DLC sounds more like a CoD fan advert than a DLC for real Battlefield fans, which have already been complaining about the small map sizes. DICE has just announced three new DLC’s that will start releasing this summer. The next expansion announced–with no release date announced–will be named Armored Kill. The first expansion, coming this june to Playstation first, is called Close Quarters. Coming, of course, so Playstation 3 first.

I also saw something about Skyrim DLC. Speaking of which, News, do you have any big gaming news to break this week. I’ve determined that if either New Jersey or Philly must move on to the next round, they really ought to just decide it by coin flip and spare us from having to watch them play each other. So I was opening my new bottle of lubricant today (no, not that kind, gee whiz), and realized, too late, that the bottle had broken in the mail. Speaking of which, Brad, do you have any big news to break this week. My Wii started to weep, it thought I was in love with it. Soon FEZ caused my brain to hurt so I returned to Xenoblade Chronicles. ) video games this week to watch some NHL playoffs. Aside from that sadness, I bought a phooton… you know, one of those beds that transforms into a couch. Rambler: So, what you’re saying is.   Remember, you saw it here first, a DNF exclusive. A slow news week. And FEZ… GlowPuff, do you know what the what Donald is talking about. That game is, as GlowPuff would say, a fun kick to the coin purse.   I took a slight break from Xenoblade Chronicles to Walk with the Dead.
